Jury head Julia Morley announced the winner of the 58th annual event with the words: “And Miss World 2008 comes from Russia!” The 178cm-tall blonde Sukhinova, from Nischnewartowsk in West Siberia, wore a dark purple evening gown in the final round of the competition.
